Dr. David Bradford
I have been in education for over 20 years, approximately 15 of which were spent as a math teacher and a basketball coach. I also spent 3 years as a secondary curriculum coordinator for a magnet school focusing on the integration of technology and another 3 years as an elementary principal before coming to Blount County. My family and I haved lived in Oneonta since beginning working with Cleveland Elementary School last year. We are members of the Oneonta Church of Christ. My primary interest outside of school includes spending time with my family. My wife of 22 years is Karen Bradford, an E.S.L. teacher at Susan Moore Elementary School. We have a 19 year-old daughter, Mandi who currently attends U.A.H., where she is majoring in engineering. Some of my other hobbies include Braves baseball, University of Alabama football, and high school basketball. I also enjoy playing golf when time permits. One piece of advice that I would offer other teachers is to always teach every day in such a way, that many years from now you could meet any of your former students and always be able to proudly look him/her in the eye knowing that you did everything within your power to help that student to be the very best that he/she could be. Also, always expect the best from your students because they will live up (or down) to your expectations. One last jewel, treat your students with the same respect that you would want other adults to treat your own child.
